I've come to the conclusion that I'm too nice a person. Well, most of the time anyway. I can't say no to anyone with a reasonable request. I babysit when I don't want to, I run errands that really have nothing to do with me, I drive people everywhere, and I give out my phone number to people that I'm not really interested in. Now here comes the not so nice part. When those people call me, I don't answer the phone, I don't return messages, and then I feel bad about it. I don't like doing things like that, but I'm too scared to tell them the truth. More often than not, I do it because 1.) I can't say no, and 2.) there's usually someone else I like better.

Here comes the twist. This time, the person I like better seems to like me back. The kicker? He's married. Well, separated and as far as I know planning a divorce. There's a 4 year old child thrown into the mix too. And he's still obviously in love with the soon to be ex. Though he's not helping her get a new apartment and whatnot, he's basically taking care of the little boy, and picking her up and dropping her off at/from work. He told me today (just after he asked me to go to his office Christmas party) that he punched his wife's "friend" last night because he had written her a love letter, and the wife had been keeping this other guy on hold for a while now, just in case.

Now, I'm more than willing to be friends with him right now, but that's it. The larger, smarter part of me is screaming that a new relationship is NOT what he needs right now, a friend is. I'm just scared of accidentally getting in too deep.
