Money woes

Why can't we use rocks as currency? I live in the mountains. Instead of a bank account, I could just drive up the canyon, break out a pick ax, and chop away. We could still write checks, and have credit cards, but for payments, we lob of a hunk of granite or limestone whatever happens to be available, drop it in the neighborhood VISA box for pickup. The same for pay checks. We get a slip saying how much we are getting, take it to the quarry, and get a bagful of equivalent, easy to carry stones.

Think about it. This would create many stonecutting jobs, stone delivery and pickup jobs, the economy would rise, and I would not be poor. I would have enough money to pay rent, gas, electric, phone/internet and cell phone bills. I would have enough left over to put gas in my car, buy toiletries, and not go back on what I now call the "anorexic diet." (Currently referred to by friends as "The Pancake Diet.") I would have enough to care for my car when things go wrong. I would have enough to visit my parents when they ask me to. I would have enough to go see Kathy, like she's been asking me to do since she moved to Connecticut. I would have enough. Period.
